Once again, the fundraising holiday activities planned by the Victoria Community Coalition are accomplished! The two-day holiday home tour on Saturday and Sunday, December 9-10, 2023, drew a good number of visitors. Those who purchased tickets had the opportunity to see the holiday décor in six different homes. Eric and Patrice Austin of Vincent, Chad and Andrea Schmidtberger, John and Kami Wellbrock, and Rod and Maria Goetz, all of rural Victoria, welcomed guests as did Jeremy and Amy Sterling and Frank and Brenda Dreiling in town.

At the Dreiling home, visitors were treated to holiday goodies and an update on the progress on the St. John's Project, which will become senior living apartments, and also house a satellite location for the Ellis County Historical Society. The proceeds of this event will be used for the roof of the project.

Board member Brenda Dreiling responded to the event, "Those that came were overwhelmed with the beautiful homes and they absolutely loved how everyone had them decorated. Most asked if we are going to do it again next year."

To finish their efforts for now, the name of the winner of the split-the-pot drawing was announced live on Facebook during the Coalition's Board meeting Tuesday evening, December 12. Peggy Wohler of Victoria was the lucky winner with a check in the amount of $722.50.
