Dedicated volunteers of the Victoria Community Coalition have worked hard to gather input and create a development plan for the former St. John's Rest Home. Senior housing and childcare were identified as two  priority needs. Proposed uses for the 40,000-square-foot space include 20 senior apartments in three sizes, two new childcare rooms that can be leased to providers, community gathering space, and the addition of a new History Museum in Victoria --- run by the Ellis County Historical Society. With space for senior housing, we believe the ripple effect will result in the availability of more family homes in the Victoria area, directly benefiting our community and schools.
